William yawns as he enters and then stares at the thing on the counter,

"Ma'am, what's that?"

"I got no sort of an idea, William."

He doesn't need her to say what she is actually thinking: I need to ask Mike about this one, and Is this dangerous?

"I'm just goin' to leave it alone for now."

"Yes, ma'am, that seems safest for now. Should I ask a rat for some coffee?"

As he feels in need of it as there's more work waiting for him when he gets home.

"No, I can get it."

And she does, once she stops looking up at the crystal.

"You know, you never did tell me how your ma liked her present..."

Mary approaches cautiously.

(Both Mrs. Reynolds and the thing floating over the bar.)

"Mrs. Reynolds?" Mary asks, clutching her grey shawl tightly across her chest as if it may provide some protection. "What is that?"

"Wish I knew, dear. Don't even know how it got there."

Mary ventures a little closer so that she stands even with the older woman.

"It's...pretty," she ventures.

Unnerving. But pretty.

"Should we alert someone? The constables? Police?"

"A priest of some sort?"

Mary doesn't know much about exorcisms and has never given the idea much credence, honestly. But you never know what the right approach will be in Milliways.

Sallie shrugs, still looking up.

"I told Mike. Imagine we'll have a palaver about it and go from there."

"Did you put that there?" Teja asks, approaching.

"No," Sallie offers wryly. "Don't much go with the decor, does it?"

"You might not wish for it to be ornamental, but useful instead?" Teja says. "Do you wish it removed?"

"Gift from Green Lantern?" Lord knows, it's the right color.

[ooc: for much slowtime fun.]

"Am I supposed to know them?"

Because weird nouns sound like names of people only coming from Charlie.

Maybe Mike. But usually Charlie.

Sallie looks away to smile. "Wei, Charlie. Been a while."

"I guess it has. I've been keeping to myself, I suppose." As usual. He's never been a people person, but of late, it may be worse. "How are you?

"Green Lantern's one of the heroes from my world. Green and dark gray costume, green mask, brown hair, ego big as Texas." He of course knows there are many Green Lanterns, but he's only seen one here.

"Haven't had the pleasure yet.

"And I've been doing well. It's quiet at home, bein' winter, so I've been spending time making sure paperwork is in order for taxing season and all."

Being a member of the Internet generation, Claudia's first instinct when she sees the green crystal is to look over her own head. (The lack of crystal there is somewhat reassuring, actually.)
"What, are we in The Sims now or something?"

"You know what it is!" Sallie jumps in surprise. "What are the Sims?"

"Computer game where you... well. You basically play God. The green thing hovers over your characters and tells you how they're feeling."
Claudia never really got a taste for it, but she's seen enough 'look how I tortured my Sims today!' picspams in her time.

Sallie's expression turns to distinct alarm.

"So -- someone is controlling Bar? The Landlord -- wait, is green good? Augh, I hate not knowing what that is."
