Slayers - Lecture Day With Spoon

Apr 22, 2007 23:24

Wells is getting far too used to using Milliways as a means of cheating when he has to travel. There's nothing at all unusual, to him, about skipping over the interminable drive from Yorkshire to the van parked about ten miles from the Academy by taking a quick hop to a bar at the opposite end of existence. (Doesn't go over well, jumping straight ( Read more... )

"I feel alright, Sarge." Spoon spent the majority of the ride with his head halfway out the window and a lit fag between his teeth. "Got everything?"

"Yeah, I'm good," says Wells. "The rest of it's all inside already anyway. C'mon, let's go get you introduced."

The gym's full of Slayers -- fifty of them, between the ages of fourteen and twenty-five, talking, laughing, noisy.

Someone gives a shrill whistle just as the two men step into the room, and the noise ceases abruptly.

Wells looks over the assembled girls, then nods once. "Right," he says (he's probably infamous by now for starting his addresses off that way). "I've been promising you girls a little something extra to make it clear to you just how fuckin' serious I am about what you'll be dealing with when you're out int he field, and today's the day I follow through on that. This gentleman here's a mate of mine, name of Spoon, and I've brought him here to demonstrate for you ladies certain aspects of the things that go bump in the night that I can't pull off myself."

Once they've driven far enough, Wells stops the van and opens the door to Milliways to let Spoon out. When Spoon opens the door from inside the Bar it'll take him to the last place he came in from, which is Yorkshire. As for Wells, he turns the van around and heads back to the school. He saw the look on Jordie's face, and he'd like to head whatever that was off before it gets out of hand.

Jordie isn't anywhere to be found, at the moment.

Her scent trail from the gym leads around to the back of the large sprawling building.

Simple enough to follow, then. He'll move quietly until it gets fresher, and then start making noise. No sense surprising her, assuming he ever could.

Finding her doesn't prove to be very difficult; she isn't so much hiding as just sitting in a place where not many people are likely to be.

There's a patch of tangled growth hard up against the building that may have once been an herb garden; some of the overgrown bushes are definitely rosemary, the scent overpowering almost everything else. If there were more visual cover, it would be an ideal place to hide.

As it is, she's pretty clearly visible if anyone should look in her direction: sitting on the ground against the stone wall, half-under one of the rosemary bushes.
