The door from Milliways opens into Harry's barn. It's where he keeps the battered grey van he drives his farrier equipment around in. Sure enough, the van is there- emptied as far as it can be emptied. "All right," Wells says. "The way I see it, I'll just let us both into Etna from here, right? There's room enough in the van."

Wells is generally of the very firm opinion that the girls need to see and know what they're really going to be up against before they get out in the field. That's not practical with a lot of their enemies, so they're just going to have to settle for werewolves.

Wells doesn't often get taken off his guard these days, so the times when it happens that way tend to stick out in his memory.
