#42 Blueberry Hill - Thursday Morning

Dec 06, 2007 07:56

Marie was up early, cooking a huge breakfast for her housemates and anyone else who stopped by.

There were a variety of glass slippers lined up on one of the counters, each filled with an assortment of holiday candy, to celebrate St. Nicholas Day.

"Okay, those have gotta be the weirdest candy dishes I've ever seen."

"It's St. Nicholas Day," Marie said. "But I figured rather than steal shoes from all of you and put candy in them, I'd buy fancy shoes and fill them with candy."

". . . But my boots would hold way more candy."

"And your boots are dirty, gross and smelly and would you really eat something that had been inside them?"

Piper wandered into the kitchen and noticed Marie was cooking. "Need any help?"

"There's a package of sausage in the freezer," Marie said. "You wanna get those out?"

"I think I can manage that," Piper said, heading over to the freezer.

"Thanks," Marie said. "How's everything going with the restaurant?"

Lana had listened to the interchange between Dean and Marie. "He would, you know," she agreed. "Wouldn't even think twice about it."

"That's disgusting," Marie said. "I hope you make him brush well before you kiss him."

Lana just laughed. "Never had an issue in that respect," she said.

"You're insane," Marie decided. "But you want some breakfast?"

"Those aren't in my size," Sam pointed out, drawn downstairs as he was by the smell of food, and yet not entirely awake.

"If you really want a pair of glass slippers in your size, I'll see what I can do," Marie said.

"Gods, no, are you kidding? The ankle support in those things is crap." It was clearly meant to be a joke, but Sam's sense of humor seemed to be somewhat lacking.

"I'm pretty sure I don't want to know about your expertise with women's footwear."

Jack was actually on his way down to the Leaf to help with decorating.

Yes, he was going to help. It was that or get pouted at by both Ianto and Aziraphale for weeks and a man could only take so much.

However, he was making a delightful detour through Blueberry Hill to scam a plate of breakfast simply because ... well, Marie was cooking!

"I smell food!"

Did he even knock?

"Swear to god, this place is turning into some kind of halfway house or something." Dean looked up from his coffee and smirked. "Heya, Jack."

"Morning, Dean!" Jack greeted him with a small bounce on his toes ignoring the halfway house comment.
