Awww.

You sound like Ryan. He's totally afraid of failure and really stressing lately as graduation looms. Then he feels like a failure for being short-tempered (because of his worry and stress) which leads to hurt feelings, then he feels like world's worst husband.

But he's not. And neither are you.

There is a lot of space between success and failure. Just because you aren't 100% who you want to be doesn't mean you are failing. It's ok to evaluate where you are and then work to improve. But you are NOT failing. Just because you might be impatient with the kids doesn't make you are failure as a father. Your standards are higher than most. Be forgiving of yourself. Focus more on *improvement* than perfection. And you CAN do it ( ... )

Mikey,

None of us are perfect. We all have our imperfections, but we just try each day to be better, and that's all you can do. At least you recognize when you might be in the wrong, and you acknowledge it. I happen to think you are a wonderful father and a wonderful husband who just happens to be human, and sometimes that human side takes over. The McArthurs love you too!! Just hang in there!! The Lord didn't say it was going to be easy, just that it would be worth it and so we keep chugging along in our everyday lives. As long as we are doing our best that's what matters.
