There is a lot of space between success and failure. Just because you aren't 100% who you want to be doesn't mean you are failing. It's ok to evaluate where you are and then work to improve. But you are NOT failing. Just because you might be impatient with the kids doesn't make you are failure as a father. Your standards are higher than most. Be forgiving of yourself. Focus more on *improvement* than perfection. And you CAN do it.
I hear a lot of my own fears when you express yourself. It took me years to figure out that millions of people do things wrong....and then fix it! If we don't do it perfectly the first time, we can improve. I am usually afraid of not being able to fix things and I want to do it perfectly to begin with. Unfortunately, this often keeps me from stepping forward and taking a chance. If I don't do it right, I don't want to do it at all. Not trying is failure. Being perfect at each thing isn't necessarily success. Trying something out of our comfort zone and then working at it can bring greater success than being great at it the first time. Hang in there!
