Tax Woes

I go to a restaurant, pay 10% service charge, and add 12% VAT, all on top of the food/beverage charges. That's 22% additional charge. What has our country gone down to?

Sadly, we are not Hongkong, where medicine is cheap since a portion of their tax go to it.

Pending - this word sums up everything right now. We don't have the VISA yet, the AMEX card, the boss' boss' boss approval.

What's the sense of a bank having many branches if they're going to charge you a hundred bucks (yes, certainly a significant amount, at least in the case of BPI) for making a transaction (e.g. deposit) in a branch that's not where you opened your account???
