Tomorrow is my Big, Scary and Final Law Bagrut, which will mark the culmination of three years of studying. It means I've been cramming like a bookworm all day. (Sadly, it also means that I've been horribly neglecting my flist and not logging on chat. Sorry! ;_;)

Eating unkosher meat isn't a sin per se, I'd qualify it as more of a... transgression? Religion prohibitions are problematic to translate.

The question does sound better in Hebrew though, where it's עבירה שהיא חטא (avera she'hi het), literally "a crime that is a sin". It's a legal term, but it's also very, uh, suggestive. Basically the only thing more blatant than that is עבירה שהיא תועבה (avera she'hi toeyva, "a crime that is an abomination"). Which: LOL.
