John Winchester. By a mile. I honestly will never understand why so many people adore him. Sure, he has his occasional decent moments, but for the overwhelmingly most part? He's a Grade A, irredeemable douche. Mileage will vary (obviously), but that's mine. I think he's a total asshole, and I'm so glad he's gone. I have nothing against Jeffrey Dean Morgan, just the character he plays.
I think it's awful that he spent Sam's college fund on ammunition, I think it's awful that he deprived his kids of any semblance of childhood whatsoever, I think it's awful that he made Dean be a father, mother, brother, and best friend to Sam, I think he's an awful dude in general. I realize that in his mind he was doing what was best, but the execution of his thought processes? Fail. I don't much like Bobby either, but I can see how others do. John is really the only character in the Supernatural ’verse for whom I cannot fathom the love. Feel free to dispute or explain away this hate I have, but honestly? I'm happy he's dead and gone.
