What, over already?

My weekend was singularly low-key. Saturday we spent the afternoon in the National Portrait Gallery and caught Stardust in the evening (a great movie, btw, and highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of The Princess Bride.) Sunday was the day of bookstores.

All of this was peppered with a liberal application of Lost viewings, which I am ( Read more... )

Yay! Glad you enjoyed Stardust! :) Loved it as well.

I never watched Lost, but you writing about it makes me kind of want to catch up on it.

Weekend was full of Guild Wars, singing and Bioshock...by which I mean it was great. Over too soon, though.

It's soooo good! Well, Stardust too, but I mean Lost -- I am like the world's pickiest tv show watcher, and I hardly ever go on and on about shows like this, but this one defies all attempts to not talk about it :) It's really very good. I like BSG a lot, but this one is more compelling.

Sounds like an awesome weekend :) And definitely over too soon.

Weekend was alright. Got some sun, cleaned the house. Can't complain.

Glad you're enjoying Lost. It really is a great show - one of my favorites.

Who are you hoping will die? I'm all caught up and won't tell you if they do or not, but I'd like to know!

And once you're caught up, I've got lots of shots of the filming locations all over the island. I've got some spoilers in my posts, so I'll wait till you're caught up.

possible Lost spoiler alert! mersipan August 27 2007, 17:51:32 UTC
...follows.

I was actually hoping it would be Shannon and not Boone who bit it first, but I strongly suspect she might be next. The reason for this is that Boone's and Shannon's stories were already pretty much over, so there's no real reason to keep either of them around. I dunno.

I just find her extremely annoying and useless :)

Sounds like a nice, relaxing weekend. I am in desperate need of cleaning my apartment...and some sun sounds nice!

I'm invested in Lost for the long haul. I was starting to wonder about that last year, but this year really turned around. And the fact that there's a definite endgame and endpoint ahead is a good sign.

I saw Stardust a couple of weeks ago and really loved it. I finished reading the book about an hour before, though, so it made for slightly weird viewing. I thought Claire Danes was particularly good...although I've been amazed to read that some people thought she was miscast.

Had some mediocre Indian food with friends on Saturday and saw Superbad on Sunday. Otherwise, a quiet and uneventful weekend.

I think I may be invested for the long haul too. What will they think up next :)

I'd heard that about Claire Danes too, and was expecting her to be bad, but I thought she was great! I thought she was perfect for the role.

How was Superbad?

I liked Superbad quite a bit -- and I don't think it's half the "gross-out" comedy that some critics are making it out to be. Yes, there's lots of naughty words and talk about sex, but it's very funny and almost surprisingly sweet at times. It's a really good complement to Knocked Up, one of the summer's other really good comedies.

I think it's somewhere between the two...it's not funny all the time, but it's definitely not serious all the time, either. It's got a lot of light-hearted moments, like Princess Bride, but probably it isn't as clever with the humor. It's charming, though :)
