well, my basement officially flooded last night. It withstood all of the other rain over the past couple of weeks, but the couple of inches of rain we got yesterday did it. The local weatherman said that we've had 4.4 inches of rain this week, if it were snow it would have been 40 inches. How sweet would that have been. I wish it had snowed instead of rain. I missed the pre-Christmas snow storm. I flew to Vegas the morning of the storm though it was before it got bad. More:

Happy belated New Year.

Time off/vacation/Christmas/New Years was fantastic: Arizona was sunshiny and beautiful, family was healthy and happy, Santa was extremely generous this year, Ohio State won its bowl game, Optimism abounds for the New Year. Will detail trip later.

A little more than 12 hours from now I will be on my way to the wonderful airport awaiting a flight that will take me to the warm desert for a week.
