One of the companies I interviewed at emailed me a document I had to sign giving them permission to contact previous employers, university, professional references, etc.; requested my references; and then asked for me to send my university transcripts to them. This is the first time ever that I've been asked for a transcript. In journalism, you don't really get asked that, it's more what experience do you have to show. I mean, I understand references, but shit. My transcript!?! I'm not too proud of how I did in college. I did well in my major classes, but not in my general education classes. For instance, French 104. I took french because I had a couple of years of it in high school and prior to that and I tested out of the beginner class so I thought I would take it in college. Well, by the time 104 came, I was damn tired of it and didn't really work in the class. And my Astronomy 161 class? damn. I thought it would be an interesting, somewhat easy class (hey, no lab! hey, let's learn about the planets!), but it was hard as hell (physics???). My belief was always that in journalism, my internships and work on the college paper were more important and would get me further job-wise. Plus, I admit, I partied in college. Not enough to fail out (although I did one or two classes), but enough to never make the dean's list.
I don't know. Maybe she wants my transcript just to see if I did indeed graduate with the degrees I write on my resume in the time that I stated and will ignore the bad grades.

Anyway, the bad roommate hasn't been home in a week. I hope she moved out without telling us. What a relief that would be. She's getting pretty serious with her boyfriend, they bought a car together and such, so maybe they got a place together too. Or maybe she's been shacking up at his place instead of ours every single night. But I really hope she moved and will retrieve everything else at a later date.

So, no big plans for the weekend. Friday we might go to the Michigan-Ohio State hockey game but it might be sold out. They are pretty big games. Saturday we're supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow. I can't freakin wait for that. I love snowstorms. The kid in me still wants to go out and play in it. I guess it reminds of winter I spent with my grandma in Traverse City, Michigan toboganning, skiing, ice skating, ice fishing and HOCKEY.
