New Gadget
You might remember my deep & abiding love for our heated mattress pad and my sorrow when both it stopped working and we got a memory foam mattress topper (one is not supposed to use heating thingies with such material).
Many moons ago, we backed a Kickstarter for a gizmo called the Bed Jet. After much trials and tribulations, it arrived.
It kind of looks like a vacuum cleaner and you hook the hosey part up to the bed. And then you can have it blow warm or cool air between the sheets. So far, I've tried the warm version and it's pretty nice. It shuts off automatically after a set time, so you don't have to worry about it running all night and getting too hot. There's also a "turbo" setting which is used for prewarming the bed.
Pretty soon, I'm sure we'll be trying the cool setting. It won't take the place of AC, but it should help quite a bit on sticky nights.
