After witnessing the vision, they are both stunned and horrified, and don't know how to react to each other. All their following interactions at places of mutual friends are awkward and stilted, but they start discreetly watching each other and noticing each other's attractive qualities. ~1495 words

Arthur/Merlin, (could be modern or canon!au) Where Arthur is older than Merlin maybe 30/18 and Merlin doesn't tell Arthur that he's still a virgin, because he fears that Arthur wouldn't have had sex with him. But soon Arthur realizes that something is wrong with Merlin with the way the boy is making noises of deep destress when Arthur's pushing inside of him. ~2150 words

Arthur/Merlin, canon. The prince has fallen into enemy hands. It takes Merlin more than a year to find him, safely locked away, chained up in a tiny cell. During this time the bandits, who captured Arthur, kept him not only as their personal sex toy, they also forbid him to speak, at all. Whenever he disobeyed them and talked back, they burned his skin with a hot iron. When Merlin saves him, the prince is in a terrible state. He's forgotten how to speak entirely. Merlin has to teach him the English language again. He also follows Merlin's orders without any protest, treats him as his master. Merlin knows it'll be a long way back, but he will stay by his side, every step of the way. ~2077 words
