Long Challenge TWO :: Jurassic Park | Portrait | Inspire | Shadow | Yellow (*CLOSED*)
(Starting this now, even though SC2 aka The Co-Run Challenge is still open for Voting. Let's all try not to get too confuzzled by having two different Challenges on, while it finishes up)
Hey, welcome to Long Challenge Two. I'll (mustbethursday3 ) be hosting this Challenge and the next one (MC3) so I do hope you won't get sick of me :D
In pursuit of making sure we get enough entries I'm going to offer you two options:
Option A) You don't Sign Up, so your Submission Deadline is the 9th of July 23:59 (AEST).
OR…
Option B) You Sign Up below, by posting a [<strong><span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153); ">[your username]</span></strong> is up for the Challenge!] comment, and your Submission Deadline will be extended to the 12th of July 23:59 (AEST) as a reward. That's a whole extra 3 days, an extra 72 hours… ~tempts~
Starting now, you have THREE days - until the 18th of June 23:59 (AEST) - to decide if you want to Sign Up. If you forget, or opt not to than there will be no extension for you. It's your choice.

Your Theme Words are: Jurassic Park | Portrait | Inspire | Shadow | Yellow
+ You may submit up to 2 entries.
+ You must use at least 1 of the Theme words, somehow (/anyhow) in your entry/s.
+ Arthur and Gwen must be main characters.
+ You do not have to write A/G romantically, pre-A/G flirting or friendship is lovely too.
+ You must write more than 800 words. That's the minimum word limit per fic. There is no maximum.
+ You can write in Canon style, AU or Crossover. (Any World/Setting is fine)
+ You may not enter any fic which has been posted before - this also means you cannot borrow any line, and/or paragraph - from anything you've already posted - and use them verbatim in your entry.
+ You don't have to be a Member, but we recommend that you 'Watch' for Updates/Notices.
+ Lastly, you must wait until the Winner's are announced on the Reveal post before you repost your entry.

|| Please note: ag_fics is not accepting any fics that include spoilers for anything past the S3 finale. Spec is fine though… like if you wanted to write about a Giant coming to Camelot and kidnapping Arthur, so Gwen and the guys have to run off and rescue him, and there'a whole King Kong moment there - that would fine… or Gwaine secretly being Arthur's cousin or … Gwen finding out Uther sold out Igraine to get a son or… Gwen's mother being revealed as a Sorceress or a Fae creature of somekind (dead or alive)... or even just her mother rocking back into town and the ripple effect - like somehow Gwen ends up quasi-betrothed to Sir Leon and has to get out of it before Arthur finds out... or what happens when the Dragon comes back and freaks everyone out with its ability to converse intelligently (if quite bitter and selfishly) or something...then it's all good.

--- Jurassic Park ---
#1 Uther brings Dinosaurs back to life (coz that's always a great idea) in a Modern remake of that Classic movie (with a Merlin twist).
#2 Arthur and Gwen are sent back in time. Like WAY back.
#3 'Primeval' Crossover.
#4 A Quest sees (a bitching) Arthur, (an Awesome and cool headed) Gwen and (a smug, yet clumsy) Merlin find the lost land of 'Dragons'. And who's that on the horizon…Gwaine?!
#5 Arthur wants to have a Movie Marathon. And Gwen lost a bet so she's there... She's there, but she refuses to enjoy herself…well maybe a little…Okay especially when Arthur starts making dinosaur screeches and roars and pretends that their snack food is tiny, shocked visitors, which plead for their lives as he gobbles them.
#6 Camelot is thrown into chaos when a spell calls forth EVERY scaly creature within a 100 mile radius. Possibly by accident (not that Merlin's admitting anything). Is this the end?
#7 Locked in at the Zoo for whatever reason, Merlin decides to entertain them with recounts of people being killed and dragged into the bushes in the movie he just saw. The night's filled with weird noises and Arthur's not scared, he's only holding onto Gwen's hand for her comfort.
#8 A late movie fine sets off a domino effect on their planned night out.
#9 Gwen comes over to the flat to find Arthur and Merlin trying to wrest a rental DVD from the VCR ("Why would you even put that in there in the first place?" "…Gwen, we- We were pretty drunk."). Shaking doesn't work. Tweezers, combs, remotes, don't work. Yelling doesn't work. Swearing, accomplishes nothing. Hitting each other with the VCR manual and calling each other names has surprisingly little effect. Getting more beer isn't the answer. The helpline is unhelpful. Gwaine's already uploaded an embarrassing 20 second video to Youtube of their progress so he's been thrown out and banned. Gwen to the rescue?
#10 Merlin get's a bb!Dragon. The bb!Dragon eats Excalibur. It's up to Gwen to save the poor widdle thing from Arthur's anger and Merlin's 'remedies'. It's all under control, until it goes missing…
--- Portrait ---
#1 Arthur commissions a portrait of Gwen. She's not happy about it, but she'll do it. (...the Question is, does she choose to pay him back in some way? Scheme with a gleeful Gwaine and Merlin against him perhaps?)
#2 A secret letter is found behind a portrait in a disused hallway.
#3 Arthur's a Modern Artist (with a crazy hair style. Blue? White? Striped? Mohawk?) and Gwen's his muse.
#4 Gwen's a thief. Arthur's a cop. A new exhibition just opened at the Museum, & they're both there to check it out.
#5 Someone knocks a old painting down to reveal a treasure map on the back. Adventure's ensue. Meetings are missed. And Gaius gets grumpy.
#6 Gwen's a photographer and she has to take photos of Arthur for a magazine.
#7 Holiday snaps drudge up old memories.
#8 Gwen falls into a painting and discovers a new world. Arthur follows to 'rescue her'.
#9 Morgana has a magical painting of herself made, and while it's in existance she's immortal. The Gang set out to hunt down and destroy it before she destroys them.
#10 Street art leads to a conversation.
--- Inspire ---
#1 Meeting Gwen once is all Arthur needs to finally get started on his novel…now if only he could find her again for the next Chapter...
#2 Arthur gives Gwen her first pep talk. Some of it's funny. Some of it's sweet. All of it's very Arthur.
#3 Gwen coaches the Avalon Knights (football team) to the finals.
#4 Gwen composes music for Arthur.
#5 Inspired and swept up in the moment, Arthur proposes to Gwen, at the top of his voice, after winning a contest…cue *crickets*, as all attention swings around to a stunned Gwen sitting in the stands... And an even more stunned Uther.
#6 Gwen has a very successful cooking show (she's kinda Nigella Lawson-y), which Arthur appears on as a celebrity guest for some reason. And tries to be impressive. (Bonus points for electrocution...)
#7 An argument with Gwen inspires Arthur to go into politics.
#8 Gwen's a cheerleader.
#9 Gwen's famous book series inspires a movie, starring A-Lister Arthur Pendragon.
#10 Gwen tells Arthur 10 times she was inspired by him when he's feeling really low.
--- Shadow ---
#1 A terrified Camelot faces shadow creatures that eat people.
#2 Arthur loses his shadow. (Peterpan crossover maybe?)
#3 Ninja!Gwen is so skilled she's nicknamed 'The Shadow'.
#4 Arthur is a superhero named 'The Shadow'. Gwen's a reporter/or someone inquisitive that finds out his secret.
#5 Arthur and Gwen get a dog.
#6 Enchanted, Arthur becomes the worst version of himself possible…but even Dark!Arthur loves Guinevere.
#7 Modern AU. An incensed Uther kidnaps Gwen on her wedding day to Arthur.
#8 People's shadows come to life. The only safe place is in the dark.
#9 There's a shadow on an X-ray…
#10 Arthur becomes Gwen shadow at University.
--- Yellow ---
#1 Rubber ducks.
#2 Curtains.
#3 Arthur's hair.
#4 Arthur's a Poet/Artist, whose work solely deals with the colour yellow.
#5 Gwen drives a yellow Beetle.
#6 A poisonous yellow snake bites Arthur.
#7 Yellow Unicorns wander into Camelot's grain storage.
#8 A spell makes everyone forgets how to pronounce the word 'yellow', what it even means, and when the appropriate time is to speak it.
#9 The sun.
#10 Zombies with yellow skin descend onto the citadel.

Oh and as I said you can remix the prompt pit ie:

+ Uther brings Dinosaurs back to life in a Primeval Crossover. But, then, a secret letter with details on how to stop him (and save the world's past, future and present) is found on the back of a painting of a rubber duck, painted by his famous Artist son, Arthur Pendragon...so there's hope.
+ Gwen composes music for Arthur by day, but by night when she's not working, she enjoys a double life as 'The Shadow' roaming the city streets.
