Hi!
How are you? I am well. Just got back from my five-week surgical followup and all has healed well and the final pathology confirmed that the alien babies weren't the dangerous kind. Huzzah!

On the new Temeraire: me, I rather like the AU history stuff, because it makes me feel more like I don't know what's coming next. But I see what you mean as far as "why was everything so unchanged up to that point, then?" My theory is that we just didn't get to see the things that were different up to that point, maybe? Because we know that the Incan Empire is still alive and kicking in the Americas - I think that got mentioned in book 1, and I went "what the hey now?" - and the US seems to be integrating with Native Americans a lot better. I am DEFINITELY more interested in Peter and Neal and Case of the Week than the Kate stuff. I just... really don't care about long-lost loves and all that jazz? It's pretty much the most boring relationship possible to me. Peter and El, now, THAT is a relationship of awesome. \married flirting/
In conclusion: They should really stop letting Matt Bomer wear shirts. *is shallow like puddle*

Maybe once we have more details the Kate mystery will be more intriguing, but... enh.
*is shallow with you* Srsly. Too bad the show is in NTC and not L.A. or somewhere where Neal could hang around at pools and beaches all the time.
