- I remember when I first saw the theatre preview for Star Trek, which I'd only been vaguely aware of before hand, and saying (out loud, to Nos), "Man, I'm gonna watch the HELL outta that." I only saw the trailer for it a couple of days ago, but I totally want to go see it now. It looks awesome. (I've never even been that into the Trek. This one just calls to me.. *g*) I hope you find someone to go with! :)

Man, Star Trek was the summer show of my childhood. So awesome, even when it was bad. I don't know how people get by not having watched it a ton. As this movie looks made of win, I really really want to see it.

I've read almost all the way through the Aubrey and Maturin series, and yes, they are wonderful. For some reason, I never read the last three, even though I have them all. And by a happy coincidence, I started rereading Master and Commander yesterday, and am greatly enjoying it. I'd forgotten how much humour there is - often dry but always affectionate towards Jack and Stephen.

I contemplated watching the film this evening but decided to go for Pirates of the Caribbean instead as being less demanding and therefore better suited to my current state of steamrollered-ness. But I think I've changed my mind!

So many hearts! You must finish them. I'll probably be done fairly soon, at the rate I'm consuming them (I have them on my iPod, for commute-reading. \o/)

And the books contain hilarity if you know where to look. And then there is some angst and some plot and sometimes I sort of forget I'm not reading a particularly good, long slashfic. *g*

And the movie isn't very heavy going at all! Not with Paul Bettany giving everybody bitchface the whole time. *hearts*

I am reading a particularly good, long slashfic and sometimes I forget it's not canon. :-)

Oh, which?

And that has happened to me too. I read some fic, and then go back to the book and start wondering why they're not addressing some important plot point and... oh, wait, that was a fic.

:D

I love going to the movies by my onesies, but I promised a friend that I would see it with her, and she can't go until the end of the month. :c

Perhaps I will have to try, after all. |Too bad about the friend being so late, though. Boo.
