Oh man, I wanna see Star Trek

May 09, 2009 13:57

- I remember when I first saw the theatre preview for Star Trek, which I'd only been vaguely aware of before hand, and saying (out loud, to Nos), "Man, I'm gonna watch the HELL outta that." And now all the squee on my flist and on Facebook is only making me want to even more. Except I don't have anyone to go with, and I don't like going to the ( Read more... )

STAR TREK IS AWESOME. Just got back from seeing it. I want to fuck Zachary Quinto. I mean, that wasn't all I got out of the movie. But it is a rather large part of it.

Anyway, I highly recommend going to movies alone. I guess it can seem weird to do so, if you're not used to it? But getting into the habit of going to movies and concerts alone way back in high school vastly improved my quality of life. That's actually one of the few downsides of moving back in with my SO: I feel like I no longer have control over my movie-watching schedule.

Awesome seems to be the general consensus!

It seems a bit weird, but the other part of my reluctance is how far the theatre is from where I live... it's an epic bus ride, quite out of the way. Maybe it will turn up in the little arty theatre downtown next month...

Ah, that makes sense. Not having a car can be a bitch. I had to transfer twice to get the the theater, but I was on a serious mission to see Star Trek immediately after watching this. Unbelievably adorable.

Dude, you will LOVE Star Trek. It is awesome and wonderful. You could take a bus to Parry Sound and I could meet you and we could go together! \o/ (I know, I know. It's sad).

Wow. That dialogue from HMS Surprise is...something else. I don't even know. I haven't yet started the O'Brian books, but MAN!

Man, I'd go see it tonight if I weren't already going to be bowling. (This is what passes for entertainment in hometown, see.)

And okay, Nos, those books. You have to love them, because then I will have someone else to squee at. And that dialogue is innocent enough in context and yet also so not, because the books are so very sly (and GAY).

Are you a good bowler? It blows my mind that we've never been before. MUST MAKE PLANS, MERES!

And heee! Yes! I WILL read them soon! They're up right after I finally finish Perfume (which is good, but something I seem to be taking a looooong time to read).

Hi, it's my day off! I wish I could be sitting in a movie theatre with you, watching STAR TREK! Because it is awesome!

Are you a good bowler?

Hell to the no. I'm the lamest bowler ever. I haven't done it and so long, and I was stuck bowling with 10-pound balls rather than 8s, which was tough. I bowled a 50, woo!

It's fun, though. :D

I WILL read them soon!

And then you will write me Jack/Stephen, yes? Yes. I think you will.

Hi, hi! It's Mom Day. I was with Moms, and ate too much food.

I still want to see that movie like whoa.

My favorite thing about the sloth incident is Jack's reason for getting the thing drunk. The sloth didn't like him! He just wanted the sloth to like him! Doooork! ♥

Those books are dangerously funny. There are so many times when I read a paragraph and go "Wait, did that joke really just happen?" And YES. Yes, it did. O'Brian is never afraid to go there, and for that I salute him.

Aww, and Stephen and Dil are so many hearts. Those books have SO MUCH great stuff in them, it's absurd! Yay!

He wants everyone to like him. It's kind of adorable.

And, right? There's so much funny. And then just things that are... I mean, the "wanting in a little penetration" bit in M&C made me all O_o. And it just continues, the subtext. Like Jack singing a snatch of Deh vieni while watching for Stephen to come back from Mahon... *smooshes them together*

Poor little Dil. She was so cute, especially with how she tried to fatten him up.
