I have some lofty goals. I suppose, all things considered, the goals aren't exactly lofty. For the most part, they seem completely reasonable and well-conceived. Not nearly as imposing or out-of-reach as the word "lofty" implies.

We have lived in California since the end of August and I haven't found work yet. I have applied for nearly 100 jobs. Jobs with requirements that mirrored my experience in previous employment perfectly. Given the rate of unemployment across the United States, this is something I should have anticipated. Amanda and I are venturing into Chinatown today, where there will be a [free] street festival honoring Chinese traditions and wares. There will be sales vendors, food vendors, and demonstrations. These festivities begin with the Kung Fu demonstration and Lion Dance. I'm extremely excited for this.

I have been really enjoying our new life in California.

One, the temperature is steadier and more comfortable here than it ever was in Michigan. It lingers around the mid-seventies during the day and dropping to a comfortable high fifties at night. There has been no rain and little discernible humidity.
