I would like to see Tori Amos in concert. This concert would, of course, include having an opportunity to go backstage and converse with her. It wouldn't be a conversation for me. I wouldn't waste her time with questions about what inspires her compositions or her lyrics. Instead, I want the chance to personally thank her for having given my friend an amazing concert experience, an experience supported by otherwise restrictive doctors, before she passed away. This gratitude is a little late coming, but feels necessary.
Perhaps I'll write Ms. Amos a letter. Something brief, to the point and genuine. Though I loved Katharine, I don't know her story well enough -- by heart enough -- to tell it to a total stranger. I only know that this story ended too soon; a quirky comedy turned tragedy that abruptly ends, just as the plot promises some inspiring twist.
