Super Jennie for Medium Cervix & Sensitive Bladder?

Dec 28, 2018 16:10

Hi everyone, recently I bought Lunette size 1 and tried it for my latest period. For your information i'm 22, never had sex, never had kids, never used tampons before (only pads), I have a medium height cervix and sensitive bladder!

These are a few things that i experienced.

1. No leakage which is good!

2. I needed to pee really badly all the time ( Read more... )

sizes/size issues, urination, stem length/trimming, camping & backpacking, lunette

Hey! The problems you've been having seem super normal to me; my cup also irritates my urethra sometimes. I think getting a softer bup would definitely help. I'm not quite sure about this, but a softer cup would probably have to be wider than a firmer cup to effectively hold its seal. Feeling like you need to pee more after your period is over is probably just due to the irritation, and it should resolve on its own if you aren't using the cup and re-irritating your urethra. If you're having problems with the length of your current cup, I probably wouldn't go for the lily cup if people are saying it's for people with higher cervixes. The risk with that is that the cup would be even longer, and you'd still have some of the same problems which would be no good I hope this helps!

I'm 42 years old with two children. I have tried Lunette size 1 but it was too small for me. I also have both sizes of the Super Jennie. The small is too small but the large Super Jennie is my Goldilocks cup and I've tried a lot of cups! I always had difficulty urinating with cups inside and I have a very sensitive bladder. I have interstitial cystitis. I'm able to urinate with the Super Jennie inside. I'd say it barely if any slows down my urine stream. If I take it out after urinating, there's just a tiny bit of urine left inside the bladder and I have to push to get the remainder out. For me, I've always taken my cups out when I have to urinate because it's quicker and easier for me. Takes me less than a minute to remove and reinsert. I've also been using cups since 2003! I have always cut the stem off of my cups due to a low cervix during menstruation but find I don't have to do this with the Super Jennie. Even if a little bit of the stem protrudes, it doesn't bother me. Good luck and imo, you can't go wrong with the Super Jennie ( ... )

I had tried a Lunette previously and had similar issues. I started with a Diva, which worked okay on the odd day that my cervix was higher but it was usually too low for the Diva to be comfortable; then I tried a MoonCupUK and the size/shape was better but the prominent and firm rim was really painful for me; I then moved on to the Lunette because it had a similar shape to the MKUK but the rim didn't seem as prominent, and I had heard it was a favourite of many people. (All of these were size 1 cups by the way). I did like the shape of the Lunette but could never get into using it regularly because it really irritated my urethra. I've had a few UTIs in the past and it would always feel like I had a UTI when I had the Lunette in. For a while I gave up on cups, thinking that maybe they just weren't for me ( ... )

Oh thank you so much for the recommendation! Unfortunately in my country the only soft cups i can get are either super jennie or lily cup (which i don't think will fit me) and I was worried about the size of Super Jennie size one (it looks big compared to Lunette size 1)

But i think i'll just try super jennie size 1!

No problem! Good luck with the Super Jennie! Even though the Si-bell size 2 is bigger than any of the other cups I've tried, it's turned out to be far more comfortable, so hopefully you have the same experience with the Jennie! I also had to cut the entire stem off all of the other cups and I've been able to leave part of the stem on this one without issue, so I think it's really the softness and shape that has been key for me.

Good luck!

Hi everyone, so i finally got my size 1 super jennie and i can say that it works perfectly for me! No pressure against the urethra even though it's bigger than lunette, it's definitely a soft cup but it opens easily too! No leakage so far and i don't have to cut the stem either!
