This was the first year Maeve had to work over Christmas, so the night before shift seemed like a hood compromise considering she had her daughter to think of. Roger was exhausted, but in high spirits. His reflexes weren't that quick though, but at least there were three other people to chase Lily down instead - Roger really was terrified of her opening to door to a kidnapper or something. Whatever, he was allowed to be irrationally worried about his kid.
In the end, tripping over wrapping paper and up-ended boxes, Kirsten pulled the door open instead.

Picking Lils up, she kissed hugged her tight. "And happy christmas to you! Sounds like you had a perfect morning!" It was the perfect greeting as Maeve listened to her daughter's excited babble and checked out her nail painting. "You and Kiki should go into business! Everyone would want you making them look amazing! Do you think you guys could make my nails amazing sometime?"
"We could do it now! Aunt Kiki, can we do it now?" Lily pleaded with her eyes to the other blonde.

Lily laughed, arms still wrapped tight around her mother's neck. "Can we now? Mum, I got the prettiest colors! And we'll do Christmas patterns and everything!"
