Summary: Kurt thinks it's all just a joke
A/N: This is just a short piece that has been on my mind for awhile. It's not my greatest piece, but I still love it!!
He shakes his head and walks away from you the first time you ask him out. He mumbles something about stupid football players and their practical jokes. The second time you ask him he rolls his eyes and walks away from you. The third time he tells you to leave him alone. The fourth time he looks like he’s going to hit you, but doesn’t. The fifth time, he says yes. He tells you that he’s only saying yes to get you to leave him alone. You just smile and tell him you’ll pick him up at eight.

“So, why did you keep asking me out?” Kurt is fidgeting with his straw.
“Cause I wanted to.” You roll your eyes as you take a drink from your soda.
“What, you wanted to know what it was like to be gay for a day?” He starts to walk away from you, towards the movie theater.
You pick up your pace, “A day, a week, a month, a year, depends on how long you like me.”
It’s his turn to roll his eyes. “I don’t like you. I only said yes to get you off my back. So, let’s just go watch the movie and get this over with.”
“Hey, hold on.” You grab onto his hand. “You agreed to a date, so let me treat you like I would any other date.”
He just stares at where your hands are connected. You can see his cheeks getting red.
“Come on Kurt.” You squeeze his hand. “Just let me show you this isn’t a joke.”
He nods his head, still staring at your hands. “Fine, but don’t expect me to agree to more than one date.”
“Okay.” You pull him towards the theater, a smile on your face. “I won’t expect you to want another date. But I know you’ll want one.”
“You’re not as cute as you think you are.” Kurt’s smile reflects yours.
“You’re right. I’m not cute.” You turn to face him. “I’m drop dead sexy.”
Kurt laughs and starts walking into the theater, pressing as close to you as he can without it being uncomfortable.

He smiles at the end of the first date. Mumbling something about adorable jocks as he opens his front door. At the end of the second date, you place a hand on his cheek and he leans into it. At the end of the third date he tells you he likes you. At the end of the fourth date, he hugs you. His face lingers by yours, as if he wants to kiss you, but he doesn’t. At the end of the fifth date, you tell him you love him, and you kiss him. He smiles, tells you he loves you too, and kisses you back.
