Back in the real world

Last night Hubbyfink asked if I was feeling okay. No, I replied after a pause to consider the question, and it wasn't just because of the stomach-churning headache I'd developed from staring at a computer screen all day. No, I was terribly discontent with our house. Hubbyfink frowned and asked what was wrong with the house. I began a list: the ants ( Read more... )

Grrr... Your house is gorgeous! I'm so jealous of the nice job you guys do in keeping your house looking nice. Try keeping the carpets in good shape when you have a toddler who likes to dribble everywhere! Clutter? You just got back from Pennsic, give it a week.

Anyway, I share your discontent over keeping our houses looking good. At least you don't have a dismantled bathroom.

Oh, I so share the house unhappiness. I'm currently making a list of things to do to make our place more bearable (which really should just have one item: burn to the ground and start over).

Yeah...with you on that. I keep thinking the easiest way to deal with all the clutter is to have it all go away. Then I can accumulate new clutter all over again. :)

I was there yesterday. I'm feeling slightly less incindiary this morning.

Strange. I've got similar feelings of discontent in my life, about most of the same things. I've resolved to join a gym this week and to get our porch cleared off. Hopefully, these little baby steps will help. Hang in there.

And I have to say it, no matter what, I think you always look beautiful in pics. :)

Yes, baby steps. I want to make huge sweeping changes, but they need to start with baby steps.

Thanks, sweetheart. :)

On computer caused headaches: I ordered these computer lenses before going to Pennsic in the hopes of dealing with annoying eyestrain. They were expecting me at home at my return. They rock, and they are worth every penny. They have less expensive options too. I highly recommend them. :-)

Exercise, you know how I feel about it. Go for it! I am thinking about working out at the beach house in October. Bring a yoga mat, and we can have some fun.

Ants: They really hate cloves. Try figuring out their path, and put a couple in the hole or corner where they are coming from. It works.

We have used ground cloves as ant repellent at Pennsic in the past and (I think) at home as well.
