NaNoRyRo Challenge 2009
EXPLANATION
This is my take on jzbell's mini version of NaNoWriMo, called NaNoRyRo, even though the abbreviation makes no sense whatsoever. I decided I would try to write something every day, as long as it was 100 words or more. In keeping with her example, I decided to stick to a simple, easy to write about subject: getting Ryan Ross laid. I publicly asked for prompts and went from there.
The pieces ended up ranging in size from 101 words to 1595. They can all be read as standalones, although some I may actually write more of. PLEASE pay attention to the headers/summaries/prompts for each fic as some have warnings for any potentially squicky/offensive content. Read at your own risk.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
When I decided to start this challenge back in October, I never would have imagined all the shit I would have to go through to get it done. I mean, I knew it would be hard, thus why it's called a challenge, but I never dreamed that I would meet Jimmie Vaughn and stay up till 2AM with my dad after a concert. I never thought my wisdom teeth would come in so soon after my 18th birthday. I never thought giving 5 pints of blood would make me so lazy and hyper at the same time. I never could have fathomed my mother putting our house on the market and having it sell in two days, then having to move out and into an apartment in little more than one week.
But now that it is finished, I can say that I did it, despite everything. I did it, I accomplished something. I didn't give up. And really, it's a life lesson in itself; don't give up, you can do it if you put your mind to it and just run into it headlong. Shit happens, you just gotta figure out how to wade through it and get out on the other side alive.
That being said, I am very glad that I did this. Thank you, everyone who gave me prompts for this and told me I could do it/wished me luck. I will be doing this again next year, even if I'm up to my ears in college work.
