That is so lovely that I've got happy tears in my eyes. I'm happy for you that you have a sister who you love and who loves you. And what a labour of love!
My sister in law made a small quilt for our first daughter, from old dresses and other pieces of clothing that her family had outgrown or worn out. Consequently, when we'd visit the family when Rose was still small enough for the quilt (and then again when our next daughter was the same size) their older cousins would reminisce about various favourite pieces of clothing that were represented on the quilt. Lovely!

Yes, I certainly had a few happy tears after I opened it too! It was such a lovely gift.

Your sister-in-law's quilt is a perfect example of that connectedness in a family I was talking about. I have seen some fantastic quilts made with old jeans, shirts and pieces of blanket. They tell such wonderful stories. I bet there are some champion quilters in the Great Southern. If I come down for the show this year, D. and I will have to take a look.

Thanks, I will make sure she knows about the compliments she has received! She is pretty humble about her work. I was so thrilled to get it I thought I should show it to you.

She is a very special person and I am very lucky to have her!
