I have the super boring life too and I wish I had a yard to mess around with. I'm still jealous you've got local punkymoms. :) Sophie just got over her hitting phase (atleast for now), it was alot of "no, don't do that" but she finally got it.

New friends and a swimming pool does NOT consist of a boring life! And dog poo.... come on! Jay and Isobel have play fights all the time, since Jay was a boxer for so long, so in turn she hits me. Fortunately she doesn't hit any other kiddos (not that we even see many!)
I am pretty sure Grace is somewhat close in age to Scarlett (15 months). Anyway, Scarlett is into hitting/slapping when she get's frustrated and angry. I tell her she can't do it, but she gets this really mean face and does it anyway. I keep telling her "we don't hit" and then we have a little time out. Hopefully she will get the point.
