Grace came out of her room all dressed today. She picked out a leopard print skirt and a black tee that says 'MOM' inside a tattoo-style heart. She looked so punk rock.

We danced around the kitchen while I made dinner to "SexyBack". Listened to it LOUDLY. I love me some Justin Timberlake. My neighbors must think I'm insane.

I was snuggling with Grace tonight at bedtime. She was looking at this old book that used to be my sister's called The King, the Mice and the Cheese. She was looking at this one page where the people in town are all smelling the supposedly delicious smell of the cheese ( Read more... )

Grace and I had a lovely day at the Mystic Aquarium. We liked the Belugas the best.

Grace is in the tub and I am on the computer. All of the sudden she yells, "MAMA! The bath is exploding!" I ask her what she means and she just says, "The bath is exploding!" Grace and I were listening to a mix CD that maxchaos sent us in the car yesterday. The last song on the disk is "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie. I'm singing along and I hear Grace in the back seat also humming, trying to remember the lyrics. I ask her if she likes that song and she says, "Yes, Mama. It's a sweet song." How ( Read more... )

Grace was just running around upstairs wearing a Darth Vader mask. She yells, in a very deep voice, "Daddy! Find Princess Leia and bring her to me."

Yeah, my kid is so gonna be a sci-fi dork.

We make a lot of poop and pee jokes in my house. It makes us laugh.

So today when I asked Grace what she wanted for lunch, she told me, "Poop to eat, pee to drink." I got out some Tootsie Rolls and put them on a plate and put some yellow food coloring in water and served it to her. She thought it was hilarious.

I love my family.
