Technological Mortality
I don't believe that there is such a thing as technology that will never be obsolete. It must upgrade or perish. Eventually, any one thing - or person, in the case of sentient technology - is bound to die when they can no longer keep up with the advances in technology. Future children
When X returned from the Nexus, he was very flustered. He'd met an alternate of himself there - one with children. The conversation from there had only gotten worse. X hoped he wouldn't run into Zero anytime soon. At least, not until he'd had a chance to collect himself again. -

A very small version of Roll was looking for me - or, rather, an alternate version of me. While I was talking to her, another robot mentioned that I had been right when I told him and Zero about the Maverick Virus. For once, I wish I'd been wrong. -

In Search of a Childhood
After the brief trip X had made to the Nexus, he returned to his dimension pondering over the conversation he'd had with Rock. He did not believe the young man was correct or that he had ever behaved like a child. It's been two weeks since I was promoted to the position of Commander of the 17th. The Mavericks have been relatively quiet since Cigma was destroyed, which can be viewed as both good news and bad. Grief
When X failed to report for duty on time the day after Zero's death, no one was sent looking for him. There was no need to. They understood. No one knew the details of what had happened, because X hadn't told anyone yet, but Zero's body told the tale well enough, as did the shellshocked expression on X's face and the tears on his cheeks as he'd ( Read more... )
