I'm glad to see you're still working on this! Which sims are left to reconstruct at this point?

My Jessica is pretty much ready to go at this point. I'll fire up BodyShop this morning and see if I can get get her ready to share with you today. Things have been super busy for me, but that will change after the show next week. I'm looking forward to having some time to myself again.

I also wanted to ask you about replacing the faces. Would I use the same process as I use for fixing the genetics with the plastic surgery-ed sims, but place the fixed face in the shown genetics field instead? At this point, I won't want to re-start the uberhood I'm working on, so I hope I'll be able to fix the genetics on my own.

With your Jessica done, only Sophia Jocque is left. :) (Mine is pregnant, so she needs her new face before she can have her baby. :P But at the pace I'm currently going, that probably won't be until the middle of next year. >_>)

There's also all the straight face template ones - Jared Starchild, Tom Freshe, a couple of townies... Hal Capp, who's straight face #2 except his eyebrows... I won't upload these, I think, because they can be fixed easily with the ingame surgery tool + the SimPE fix.

Yeah, the procedure's pretty much the same. What I've done is put the fixed sims in a new neighbourhood, extract their facial structures in SimPE, opened up the uberhood and replaced the original facial structure there. It's very simple.

I'll make Jessica a priority. I'm terrible, though, because instead of working on her, I've been re-working some of my original story sims instead (Debbie O, Cammy Nutmeg, and Val Prospero). I'm far too easily distracted. Time to break out the whip. :P

How difficult do you figure Sophia will be? Would you like some help with her? (Again, my help doesn't really speed things up, as I'm sure you know! XD)

That's great. Doesn't sound too hard, but I wish faces showed up in the sim surgery menu the way they do in CAS when a sim is in the sim bin. That would make life sooooo much easier!

I'm almost sure I recently saw an add-on feature for sim surgery that would basically do exactly that... It's a shame I can't find it. I'll keep looking.

Hi meetme,
I would like to have the fixed Violet in my game but, I don't know how to do it. Do you mind to explain me please, when you have time? Thank you.
(I don't know if I'll wait for other fixes or if I start doing it now...)

Sure. Here's a step by step instruction!

Basically, you do what's described in this tutorial, but with a slight twist.

1. Put the fixed sim(s) package file(s) in your SavedSims folder.

2. Run the game, make a new neighbourhood, and make the fixed sim(s) from the packages in CAS. Keep them at their original ages (you'll need a college to make the college sims). Just make a dummy sim or something to be a parent to teen Violet. It doesn't matter, you're not gonna keep anything in this neighbourhood anyway.

3. Close the game, open up the temporary neighbourhood. Follow the steps of the tutorial to navigate to the sim's facial structure. Unlike in the tutorial, however, there'll only be one line here ( ... )

So, not related to this, but uberhood related: The Aspirs' had triplets. One is showing up as Chastity Gere's grandparent (grandfather, since it's a boy), but only when looking at Chastity's family tree, not at his. The simblender does not seem to be able to tell they're related (there's no option to clear family ties on it).

Well, since I have SimPE firing up right now--I got Jessica and Vi fixed last night, but evidently forgot to save on the Rubens (did you know the sim goes completely black after using the Theo-tool on them until you've entered their house and saved and exited again?)--so I'm doing the Rubens this morning anyway. Jessica worked beautifully: her twins are exactly what they ought to be. Now if I can find those numbers ( ... )

I have to ask - did you check out Matthew Hart, one of the premade college students? If I'm remembering the right name, he has a hideously broken nose resulting in his nostril graphic extending all the way to his upper lip. I can't check now, but I will check later to see if I'm remembering the right name.

Matthew Hart does indeed have a funny lookin' nose. However, that's not the kind of borkedness we're fixing here - they're sims whose faces are based upon face templates which were missing the correct appearance for all other lifestages than (young) adult. So, they're technically broken rather than aesthetically broken. Matthew's ugly nose is at least consistent throughout his life. ^^

True, true. *laughs* But oh, does his design ever look broken!
