The newspaper today makes a reference to Obama appealing to "latte liberals" in Ohio. What does that phrase mean, exactly -- a liberal who likes fancy coffee drinks? And what are they doing in Ohio?

Edit: I just found this reference on Wikipedia. So affluent liberals are elitist, but wealthy conservatives aren't? Sheesh.

Okay, I was not prepared for the post office to be closed for Columbus Day when I walked over there with a stack of applications. Why are we still celebrating Columbus Day in some quarters? Yesterday we went to a glorious (if overpriced) farmer's market, strategically located on the dividing line between a wealthy/touristy neighborhood and a poorer neighborhood.
