This past weekend was too rainy to go for a ride, but not too rainy for a run. I used the opportunity to break in my new Japanese disco shoes. After a thousand miles and several tread re-gluings, my old trail running shoes are as bald as the vice president's head, so I finally broke down and bought new ones. My kitty is sick. She either has a cold, or she's allergic to me. I've noticed many similarities between Ramona and myself, so if I'm allergic to cats, it would stand to reason that she would be allergic to people. I made the most of the beautiful weather this weekend like it was going out of style, because it probably is. Friday night, I ran up to Traver Woods and back. Saturday, I took my mountain bike up on the back roads along the river, and yesterday, I did a road ride with the AABTS and some aero dept folks out to Chelsea and back. I've been finally able to do some long outdoor runs last week thanks to the heat wave. It's so warm here, it even got above freezing. I've started exploring some routes in the Glazier Hills and down to Concordia. The trails are a bit slow going now that it's warm enough I can't run on top of the snow anymore. I finally went for a run outdoors last night for the first time in over a month. I set no speed nor distance records, just enjoyed the fresh air and not going around in circles.

Had dinner last night with theshunter, technolope, and Drusilla at La Fiesta Mexicana on Cross St. in Ypsi. I had the potato taco special. It was good.

Saturday morning, it was sunny and in the mid 50s, perfect weather for a long run. I went down Fuller to the train station and Wheeler Park, then I came back through town and the medical center to the Arb for some hill climbs, and out on Geddes. Saturday morning, I went for a run instead of my usual ride, to avoid getting my hands numb from road vibration. What should have been a nice leisurely 10K turned into a mad sprint for home for the last mile due to a hydration miscalculation.
