She'd been having a fantastic day. She really had been, and the highlight of Glee practice that afternoon only managed to solidify that notion. She was running a little lap, via a distracting Lucil, but she didn't mind; in fact, she walked into the Glee room with her head high, a small smile and her thumbs hooked into her pockets with every intention of having a good time. She, however, didn't expect to find one blonde too many sitting among the risers. Immediately she froze in her tracks and her eyes narrowed in anger as she just surveyed the blonde. Alone, without her boytoy, looking to be annoyed (Kudo points, Jack) and acting like she was still Queen Bee. It seems she was forgetting the point that she was not Queen Bee in the choir room. This was Glee Club turf and she was intruding oh so rudely ( ... )

Rachel had study hall for her last class of the day, and while that might have been an excuse for the average student to skip out and head home an hour early, Rachel liked to use the time to prepare for Glee club's rehearsals or on brushing up her own repertoire. So she usually spent that last class period in the choir room, accompanying herself on the piano or singing along to a kareoke-style track, or in the library, looking up new music.

She had split her study hall that afternoon, rehearsing some of her solos from Chicago (because it was better to be prepared than go into rehearsals blind), and then had headed off to the library to find a few pieces as suggestions for Sectionals. If Mr Schuester wasn't going to let her run the club, then she was going to do everything in her power just up to that line. Which meant providing ideas and volunteering herself as much as necessary for solos and for leadership roles ( ... )

Quinn wasn't all to excited to see a very small brunette open the door as opposed to a very tall boy, and she rolled her eyes as soon as the girl entered, falling back into her seat. Naturally, Finn would be late - he was late to everything else, why should Glee club be any different?

She resolved to just stare in the opposite direction of everyone's glares, which happened to be exactly the spot Rachel Berry insisted upon planting herself. Quinn eyed the girl curiously, a smug smile creeping onto her face.

"What do you want?"

Rachel wasn't going to just let Quinn Fabray wander into Glee club without an explanation. She wasn't naive enough to think that Quinn was joining out of the goodness of her heart, or because of some innate need to express herself musically; Rachel figured this had to do with the fact that Finn had joined up, and more likely with the fact that Rachel had been singing with him. It wasn't as if the blonde had anything to worry about, since none of the girls in Glee were particularly drawn to Finn in any way other than as a friend and musical partner, but Rachel also knew that Quinn wasn't going to accept that. (Rachel almost, almost didn't blame her.)

"We can have this discussion civilly, Quinn, in private, or you can wait outside until Glee club has concluded rehearsals for the day. I am not one to have conversations across a room, and though I don't particularly care for your Ice Queen behaviors, I would like to clear the air before we begin rehearsals." Rachel wasn't going to be ridiculed in her own space. Glee was her thing, and ( ... )

If Quinn could say anything remotely redeeming about Rachel, it was that she genuinely didn't seem to care how much power Quinn held over her. It wasn't like the girl wasn't aware that Quinn could make her life miserable - it was a bit of a hobby for her at this point, and could only get worse if she chose to actively pursue it. Quinn pursed her lips at the girl in consideration before finally sighing and heaving herself up. She might as well have gotten this out of the way.

She stood at the girl's side, shooting a wary look to those sitting along the risers before making an impatient face at Rachel, shrugging her shoulders and placing her hands on her hips as if to say, 'well, I'm here'.

The clock must be broken.

It hasn’t moved in like nineteen hours, not even one tick-- Finn was pretty sure, he’s been watching it since last period started, only taking his eyes off of the device long enough to watch Puck make crude (but you know-- still funny) gestures while their more than attractive substitute teacher had her back turned. He’s just been a little on edge considering this afternoon was the first Glee practice since Quinn joined and Finn really didn’t know how things were going to go. The blonde said she just wanted to spend more time with him and that sounded pretty cool and everything but it also sounded kinda not like her at all so he was anxious ( ... )

Quinn was basically to the point where she could have jumped for joy at the boy's arrival, his tall frame hulking through the door as he was smiling joyfully (and a bit too innocently) at the other kids. She turned her attention from Santana and smiled at him - a genuine, wide smile - as he came up to her side, taking the seat between her and Santana, and rested the hand that had previously been on her knee onto his arm.

"It's fine," she said quietly, ignoring what she was pretty sure were glares from everyone else. She kept Finn's attention on her as she smiled at him. "It was alright. How about yours?"

When it finally registered to Finn that Santana had been sitting next to his girlfriend, it caused him to rack his brain to try to figure out what the latina cheerleader was doing in Glee. As best as he could remember, Quinn had said nothing about Santana coming along with her when she told him she was joining the club. This really did nothing to quell his slight anxiousness but at the same time, it actually inspired a bit of optimism in him. Maybe if a good amount of popular kids kept joining Glee then it wouldn’t be a big deal anymore and the guys on the team would stop giving him shit about it.

“It was alright. We had sub and Puck kept… it was just alright.” He nodded in agreement with himself, giving Quinn his usual lop-sided grin. After a moment of looking over to Santana, he spoke again but this time his voice quieter. “What’s uh… what’s Santana doing here?”

Quinn watched as Finn thought for a moment, her finger drawing patterns into the skin of his forearm, and her thoughts drifted to what Finn might have to put up with now that her and Santana had joined. Her face fell slightly, and she focused on her moving hand before she heard him speak up. She looked up to him.

"I don't even want to know," she said plainly, rolling her eyes before smiling in an attempt to be earnest. "We auditioned together," Quinn said innocently, as if it wasn't completely random for Santana to be here. "Brittany did, too, but we're pretty sure she forgot. Or got lost."

Among the popular kids, it was common knowledge that Glee club was the lowest of the low in McKinley's social hierarchy. Sue Sylvester had made it her mission in life to destroy the Glee club and Mr. Schuester for starting it. No one dared show support for Glee because of her; even those A/V club geeks made fun of Glee, which was just utterly pathetic ( ... )

For all the grief Santana gave Quinn, Quinn couldn't help but appreciate the girl and her friendship - Quinn wasn't really the most likable person, and nor was the Latino girl, which is more than likely why they bonded to begin with. Still, she'd asked Santana and Brittany to come for backup, and was actually a tad surprised that Santana arrived (especially because she was alone).

So Quinn couldn't help but sigh in relief when she saw Santana enter, shooting menacing glares to those that stared at her. The blond smirked at the girl as she bounded up the risers, turning to face her and crossing her legs. "Thanks for coming," Quinn said lowly, looking over her shoulder before she continued. "It's like they have no idea who we are."

Santana looked around the room. Quinn had a point. These Gleeks weren't bowing to their superiority, and it was very weird. Santana was used to these lesser-thans parting to let her through the crowded hallways and whimpering in fear when she so much as looked at them (with daggers in her eyes, of course). But the only acknowledgement from these Glee clubbers were disgruntled looks, like Santana and Quinn were unwanted.

"Oh, they'll find out," she replied quietly, eyes landing on one Rachel Berry. "We take down their little leader, and we will rule this geek herd."

Quinn noted Santana's unamused expression as she looked at their surroundings, nodding in recognition. It was odd for them to be under fire, because they were protected by the bubble of being popular - but they were out of their element, and Quinn was reminded of it the moment she walked in.

"She already gave me a lecture on how I should apologize to them," Quinn retorted, giving Santana a 'can you believe it?' look. "I'm pretty sure the Glee club doesn't even have leaders, but man hands seems to think she's it."
