Iku... rasu? Oh, I see what you did there- very nice. Assuming earth-like physics and mythological parallels Iku's first flight is not likely to end well.

On the other hand the tone of the story seems too light for a tragedy, there's not really any self-destructive motivation discussed and who knows what kinds of safety equipment, low gravity conditions or soft terrain are present.

Not sure where I'm going with this, but I think Iku is never seen again and the story shifts to Sati.

Now that I've thought about it more, the parallel makes more sense to me. Icarus wasn't trying to kill himself; he was trying to escape an oppressive situation and got carried away with how awesome the escape method was.

Looking forward to hearing more.
