I have come back to Livejournal after a long hiatus - mostly because i keep forgetting my password, locking myself out, then forget to reset my password - and now the user interface is different and I don't know who is still active here and well, I might as well maintain this as an archive of my younger, more impetuous self. -

It's been so long since I've used LJ that I locked myself out 3 times and when I finally gave up and had my password reset, I'm probably going to lock myself out again soon because the new password requirements are ridiculous. This Livejournal is a bit old and hasn't been used in years. Frightening. In other news, I am still job hunting, I have now started to go to the gym, and my back is currently in knots because of some exercise earlier today.
In short, I'm doing fine. -
things I have learned today:
- acid into water, silly. Not the other way around. (I may have almost caused a small explosion while diluting some sulfuric acid. Whoops.)
- I should not tweet the school newspaper about the dorms possibly being on fire on the strength of hearing a fire alarm for a prolonged period of time plus a series of fire trucks. Just because the fire alarm ( Read more... )

idiotic, but still funny --
On the first day of Richard's eight-day wedding to the Venus of Willendorf, I gave Richard a red-ground kylix decorated with scenes from Homer's Iliad. The wedding theme was Paleolithic; we were all dressed in animal hides and Gonzo, as best man, wielded the ceremonial spear. i was in Vancouver when the whole "Butcher of Montreal" business began to leak to the media, and it was thoroughly unsettling, and i left it at that until one night I had nightmares.
and now there's more news about body parts mailed to Vancouver and I'm no longer in the country but whoa, what a bad news article to read right before bed. -

i almost set my mother's car on fire today. quite literally.
The needle indicating temperature crept up towards the red line and I was not going to have the engine blow out on me when I was in the middle of a busy street, thank you very much, except the traffic was atrocious and so I couldn't really get the car moving enough to cool it down ( Read more... ) -
