The AP says Jennifer Granholm is visiting the White House and is on a short list for David Souter's seat on the Supreme Court.  I have found her to be very limited in her thinking, not working well "outside the box" and ... well... whiney, which drives me crazy.  She passes the litmus test of being pro-choice and anti-ID, but I do not think she'd

Oh for f---'s sake, Granholm shouldn't be allowed to supervise an ant farm, let alone sit on the Supreme Court.

I think my dad would have some sort of spontaneous aneurysm if Jennifer Granholm were to be nominated. That is, his brain would explode.... I keep thinking it will anyway, since he seems to blame Granholm for GM's meltdown (and the associated meltdown of his retirement plans).

Of the list, I think I'm most impressed with Diane Wood, although I'm not sure how much she'd differ from Ruth Bader Ginsberg on most issues.
