Usual caveat lector: I am pro-pretty-much-everybody. Yes, even him. I especially love Dean. And Sam. And Castiel. And Bobby. And John. And Ellen. And Jo. And Ruby. And Bela. And Andy, Ash, Ava, Gordon, Victor, Rufus, Missouri, Jimmy, Amelia, Claire, Anna, Zachariah, Uriel, Meg, Azazel, Sarah, Lucas, Ben, Lisa, Kubrick, Travis, Jim, Caleb, Josh, ( Read more... )

And he breaks down with Bobby the way he can't let himself crack with anyone else.

Yes indeed. It's the same tone we hear when he calls and leaves that message for John in "Home." Only more so.

oh man... i just got all teary eyed again with those last few shots of ellen. honestly, that was the biggest wrong in that episode to me -- that ellen had to live with her daughter's death for that one minute.

I totally make the bamfing BAMF joke too, glad to know I'm not the only eleven-year old here. Hee.

I love that Castiel rode with Ellen and Jo. And it's a looooong drive from South Dakota to Georgia, so he must have really wanted to go with them. To me, it smacks of "NEW FRIENDS. Must spend more time with new friends!" on Castiel's part
YES. THIS. YOU KNOW I AGREE.

On the reapers' true forms - I think that was actually the gross wispy things with scythes as seen in IMTOD?

Castiel, iirc, says 'um' on one previous occasion, when he's busting into the 5.08 game show to save Dean and Sam.

I don't care, really, how well it was pulled off - these two characters were brought back just to be killed. I'm still extremely bitter about that.

Thank you. I'm having a lot of trouble getting passed that. (And read commentary on both sides of the issue...nothing has changed my mind).

Since there's a lot here that didn't happen, I'll just stick with the other parts.

I especially loved Castiel in this ep. That he got new friends, his protectiveness of Sam, his talk with Lucifer, and everything else you already said.

Creepy reapers were creepy. I was hoping so much for Cas-Tessa interaction and was quite disappointed when she didn't show up. About the male/female reapers thing: She once said (in 4.15?) that Tessa was one of her names, so I'm assuming she has different forms for different occasions, and every other reaper we've seen was a creepy old man. Maybe reapers feel more comfortable as creepy old men and she only dresses up as Tessa because she figured out that it makes her job easier?

My interpretation of Dean's "annoyance" about losing Cas is that he's trying mask his fear for his friend. TO me it feels more like he's playing 2014 Dean than actually showing signs of becoming him. Did that make sense? It does in my head...

And TPTB messed up the editing and Cas got out of the ring of fire right before the ( ... )
