Mark and I got a puppy! We found him at the Espanola animal shelter. We went down there yesterday, but he still had a day left on his stray time (strays are under observation for 7 days in case the owners come back, or they start exhibiting signs of rabies or plague). Just got an acceptance email from American University. I have been offered admissions. Oh, that's happy. That's very very happy.

Reasons I hate Christmas:
1. Blatant, unrestrained, unashamed consumerism.
2. Family
3. The wholesome expectation that Hallmark and CBS project for quaint little Americans to fill. I don't think I've ever been wholesome.
4. The fact that I actually wish I could like Christmas.
