This song is one of two instrumental pieces on the list. The problem with instrumental pieces is that they don't stand on their own quite as well. I considered this song to be my favorite hymn toward the end of high school and beginning of college. I remember singing it to myself in the car or while walking the gravel roads of Craighead county. A broad swath of the western world knows some version of this song. McCartney carried most of the songwriting with Lennon adding a couple of lines and working on the melody.
