Had a really good Thanksgiving this year.  It started with my dad, my brother Kyle, and my boyfriend Matt all meeting up at Denny's for breakfast.  Denny's wasn't my choice for a meal but it was one of the few places that were open and, ever since my parents divorce, it has been difficult to get people together to celebrate the holidays with my dad ( Read more... )

CONvergence 2011 was great. It was my first year ever (and I've been attending since the first one back in 1999) that I didn't volunteer for anything. No panels, no green room shifts, no head of programming, no late night room parties and scrubbing taco grease out of pans at three in the morning - nothing. I loved it. The experience really ( Read more... )

I will be meeting the mother of Justin Aaberg tonight at the Out Twin Cities Film Festival.

Justin's family is being honored there tonight.  He committed suicide last fall due to anti-gay bullying at Anoka High School, one school over (same district) from Blaine High School, which I attended.  He was the fifth kid, at 15 years old, to take his own ( Read more... )

Didn't watch the Oscars last night.  Haven't in quite a few years now.  I used to look forward to it but I'm so far behind on movie watching and, as I get older, find myself less and less interested in movies.
