But the thing I look forward to most, I think,

It's a bit annoying that usually, the time you most want to suggest a movie to others, when you're most excited about it, is right after you've watched it. And you don't want to watch it again right away. And then, later, you just forget about it.

Some notation: I came upon this rant by Dijkstra a while ago, which says essentially, that the n choose m notation is dumb, and we should write P(i,j) for i+j choose i, instead. I was convinced. Since then, I've seen lots of other reasons that that notation is better, so I'm adopting it in this post. I'll probably also use it in other casual ( Read more... )

Yesterday, I was walking on the MIT bridge over the Charles river, and looking at the waves. Specifically, I was looking at the reflection of the sun in the waves. There are lots of little bright dots, and they're moving around. I found that these dots traced patterns in my eyes, so I could see the path that a dot took for a few moments.
