Elizabeth I, a Mean Bug, and a Sucking Pipe
Elizabeth has a number of babies now. They are the easiest to watch because her nest is verticle facing towards me, right on the beam above a window just below eye level. A wasp by any other name would sting your ass if you break into my bus
I have now found eight paper queens. Their names are: Mary, Elizabeth, Jane, Anne B, Ann C, Catherine A, Catherine H, and Catherine P. Only one of them hasn't hatched young yet (Elizabeth), but she has larvae all packaged and ready to pop. Six English Queens, One Hippie, One Mission
Lately I have been noticing that some of wasp nest holes had white buldging covers over them. Then yesterday, I saw that on the nest of Catherine of Aragorn, there were two wasps, the second being somewhat smaller than Catherine herself. Update
Make that six pet wasps. I looked them up (at first I thought they were yellowjackets), and it turns out they are little paper wasp queens who have each started a tragic little nest. I wish them no harm, but do hope that I don't wake up one morning to find swarms of hatched larvae taking wing on all sides of me, rough-housing and hooligan-ing and ( Read more... ) -

I have a job as the CSU writing center of the SUmmer. But it doesn't start until mid-July. THAT MEANS BACKPACKING. PsyCHED.

I have been staying up all week trying to finish zine project/paper. Was at coffee until 2 or 3 last night. falling asleep at work
