A bittersweet, sentimental ramble on what I loved about everything that came before the end, and a little about why I ultimately reject these endings.

Craaaaaaap.

I'm in the process (like, it's taken me all day so far, and I'm not done) of writing up a very long essay taking a look at the end of the game and all the theories running around as an analysis of the entire story and not just what was presented in ME3 that I was planning on posting here. I mentioned it to sinvraal in a comment this morning.

I don't want to put it on my own journal (which is not a dedicated fan journal), but there is no way in the world it's going to fit in comments. I mean, no way. The thing is at 30K characters already, and LJ's comment limits are 4500.

The only reason I caught this post is that I've been coming back periodically while I've been writing it to see if any new information has come out.

May I have permission to post it to the comm?

Hm. The only alternative I can think of is if you put it in sections in a single thread with multiple comments. I'll ask Sin.

I appreciate it if you would.

All the 'this is my reaction to the ending' posts were getting annoying to me as well and I'm glad a collection post was made for it, but I'd like to pretend, at least, that what I'm writing isn't just that. It's turning into a literary analysis (and it's making me feel like I'm back writing a senior level college paper lol).

At this time, I'm going to suggest you put it down in comments, preferabbly multiple comments within a single thread to keep it collected, or post it to your journal/other blog such as tumblr and link it back here. The point of this post is to clean up the community from the crazy amount of posts we've been getting all on the same thing, and waiving it for one sets up too much of a slippery slope.

Here's my love letter to the ending, where I try to describe why the ending I picked in particular was particularly emotionally resonant for me.

And to fit in, here's my public thoughts, most of which has been covered here as well.
