Travelling
1) What is your favorite mode of travel? (Car, train, plane, etc).
First Class and being well pampered. If that's not an option then I prefer to be using my own legs to do the travelling
2) Where is the northernmost place you've traveled? The southernmost?

Milano City Marathon
The good news is that I ran a PB (personal best) in this race - I should have since the course was about as flat as a pancake and the weather was almost ideal, lightly overcast and not too cold or windy.

Monaco Half Marathon
We ran the Monaco half marathin today. It was not one of my best races but then at 5km I knew I wasn't going to make a PB and hence didn't push that hard but not bad practice for the Milano Marathon in 3 weeks ( Read more... ) -

I realized today that I failed to write up my Helsinki City Marathon participation. In brief - started off well but suffered the runs at 30km which caused a significant time penalty.... as a result my time was not terribly good instead of the PB I was hoping for. Trail de la Colmiane
The major attraction to the Trail de la Colmiane was that it was free as in at no cost. Of course there's free and free. Given that we had to drive over 100km (and climb up 1300m in the process) and spend a night in a hotel near the start this wasn't really free. But I'm not going to complain about the costs incurred as the trail was spectacular ( Read more... ) -
Man vs Horse Race 2009
We were participants in the 30th Man vs Horse Race which was run on June 13th around Llanwrtyd Wells in scenic mid Wales. The race pits runners aganst riders to see who wins. The rider usually does but two or three times a runner has won. However many runners (including yours truly and She Who Must Be Obeyed) beat a number of horses.

Prague Marathon May 10
This was my second really competitive full marathon (Rome was just fun) and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I didn't quite make my target time (3h10) but I knocked 4 minutes (2%) off my Lausanne time to get a net time of 3h15m15 and I think I can see how I'll knock another 5 and a bit off next time to get down below 3h10 ( Read more... )
