So as some of you may know, I found out that I got into UC Berkeley today. Also, I got a $12,000 scholarship to UC Santa Barbara. And I got into UC San Diego, but that's not really important. This is all exciting news, but it puts me in a very difficult position

i think santa barbara will be somewhat too close to santa cruz in terms of the overall experience. i mean it's somewhat isolated, but you don't have the benefit of cool and interesting people like you dis at santa cruz. think of how miserable you would have been there if you didn't even have people that interested you. i just don't see the genreal ucsb student population really striking your fancy. BUT martha mintz does go to ucsb...which makes up for any lacking in the social dept. you should talk to her and see what she ahs to say. berkley is very cool and it's dynamic is unlike any other college town. but as you said this conflicts with the band. you just have to measure things and see what your priorities are at this point in your life. good luck.

seems like you've kind of ruled our berkeley all on your own...and in terms of that, you aren't ready to give up the band and neither are the other guys- so berkeley is out if you want to go far with music
