It was the day of the wedding, and Nico was on pins and needles. Something bad was going to happen, and she still didn't have a clue as to who or what was going to be responsible for it

In fact, she's not really on edge at all, as she strode into the room humming the wedding march under her breath.
"Hey Nico, quick question," she mused, "Who is the bride, Karolina or Xavin? Or are there going to be two brides?" She itched under her chin. "Though that is kinda weird..."
Noticing Nico's make-up smeared face, she tilted her head to the side. "Are you...going to the wedding like that? 'Cause I don't really wear makeup so it's not like I know trends or anything..."
"Not really a trend there, Mol, just means that she needs to reapply her eyeliner." Gert's a little on edge herself, as she walked into the room with Old Lace.
"K's got the only dress," Nico said, carefully not wiping her hands on her skirt. "I think Xavin's trying to keep this as traditional as possible."
There were some people who weren't happy about the way the hostilities were ending. But unhappy enough to blow up both planets? Nico wasn't too sure about that.
"This stuff is supposed to be smear-proof," she added grumpily under her breath. So much for truth in advertising.
They still hadn't figured out anything when it had come time to begin the wedding. The Runaways, as close-but-alien friends of the bride, were seated behind just about every member of her extended family that could be brought in, but in front of those Majesdanians who were attending what promised to be a historic wedding. In deference to the fact that the humans tended to develop a squint when in a room with more than four Majesdanians, they were provided with sun glasses.
The wedding itself was lovely, if you could understand what was being said. And very, very, very long, mostly because representatives of the governments of the two worlds had stepped in at one point to actually read the treaty.
They had just about reached the point when Karolina and Xavin would exchange vows when alarms started blaring, drowning out the peaceful wedding music.

Victor spoke as he was catching up to the girls. "Don't worry Molly. We'll finish it up once we get home. I promise." He had learned that it was relatively easy to become a priest online nowadays.
