It was the day of the wedding, and Nico was on pins and needles. Something bad was going to happen, and she still didn't have a clue as to who or what was going to be responsible for it

They still hadn't figured out anything when it had come time to begin the wedding. The Runaways, as close-but-alien friends of the bride, were seated behind just about every member of her extended family that could be brought in, but in front of those Majesdanians who were attending what promised to be a historic wedding. In deference to the fact that the humans tended to develop a squint when in a room with more than four Majesdanians, they were provided with sun glasses.
The wedding itself was lovely, if you could understand what was being said. And very, very, very long, mostly because representatives of the governments of the two worlds had stepped in at one point to actually read the treaty.
They had just about reached the point when Karolina and Xavin would exchange vows when alarms started blaring, drowning out the peaceful wedding music.

Victor spoke as he was catching up to the girls. "Don't worry Molly. We'll finish it up once we get home. I promise." He had learned that it was relatively easy to become a priest online nowadays.
"Run now, talk later! Red sea!" Nico commands, opening a path in the panicking mob ahead of them. She glances over her shoulder to make sure that Karolina's following -- thank God she can fly, there's no way she'd be able to run in that dress. Xavin isn't too far behind. "Chase, short-cuts?"
With the fence out of the way and a hell of a lot more running, they finally made it to the space port. It was chaos there too, with Majesdanians and Skrulls scrambling to their own ships. It looked like they may have practiced something like this before -- Nico guessed that's what happened when you were in an on-going war with another planet.
But that wasn't what she was worried about right now.

"Spaceport's that way, if we have a pint-size gal who can break the fence for us.."

She'd smack him for calling her short later.

"Are you sure this is the short cut and not the way to the cafeteria?"

She's so glad she turned down Karolina's offered heels. This would suck even more if she had to run in those wanna-be stilts.

But that wasn't what she was worried about right now.
"Keep running!"

"Now let's see, where did I park.."
He presses a button, and one of the small ships begins to open up, pneumatically-sealed doors hissing open.
"All aboard!"
