It was the day of the wedding, and Nico was on pins and needles. Something bad was going to happen, and she still didn't have a clue as to who or what was going to be responsible for it

In fact, she's not really on edge at all, as she strode into the room humming the wedding march under her breath.
"Hey Nico, quick question," she mused, "Who is the bride, Karolina or Xavin? Or are there going to be two brides?" She itched under her chin. "Though that is kinda weird..."
Noticing Nico's make-up smeared face, she tilted her head to the side. "Are you...going to the wedding like that? 'Cause I don't really wear makeup so it's not like I know trends or anything..."
"Not really a trend there, Mol, just means that she needs to reapply her eyeliner." Gert's a little on edge herself, as she walked into the room with Old Lace.
"K's got the only dress," Nico said, carefully not wiping her hands on her skirt. "I think Xavin's trying to keep this as traditional as possible."
There were some people who weren't happy about the way the hostilities were ending. But unhappy enough to blow up both planets? Nico wasn't too sure about that.
"This stuff is supposed to be smear-proof," she added grumpily under her breath. So much for truth in advertising.
"We're not anywhere we haven't already been," Nico said unhappily. "Believe me, I don't want to be here when that happens either." She glanced sidelong at Chase. "You remember where Xavin's space ship is parked, right?"
She'd put Chase and Victor on memorizing all the routes off-planet -- just in case they had to haul butt when the time came. She figured that, between the two of them, they could probably figure out how to fly an alien spaceship at least well enough.
Victor had been silent while the girls had been talking about Nico's make-up and the whole doomed planet thing. He was trying to figure out what else he could do besides figuring for an escape.
"Don't worry Nico. Chase and I have the whole exit strategy completely under control. When the time comes, we will not be stuck here hoping for some miracle."
"And I've got K covered when we need it, if she needs the help," Nico said. Okay, that was a handful of (related) things off her mind. "Good. Good job, guys."
She wasn't going to thank them for believing her. If she couldn't make them believe her at this point, she was doing something really, really wrong. And when that happened, someone else was going to have to take over.
"...No one's said anything to any of you that might be related to this, have they?"
"They wouldn't tell us, but they'd tell Xavin," Nico said. They would, right? He was their prince, he was in charge, so they'd have to tell him anything like that. And Xavin would tell them, since he...she knew that they were worrying about it. "And I haven't heard anything from Xavin, and I trust that you guys would come to me if she said anything to you about it."
She wished that her spell had contained more information. Served her right for not being specific.
"Ugh." Nico scrubbed her hands on her skirt. "Anyone got a mirror? I look like the night after Halloween."
"One, I am not sure if someone would tell Xavin that they were planning to destroy a planet." Victor thought it best to answer Nico's first question and then Chase's. "Two, if we start running around and telling people that Nico saw their planet being destroyed, then we would either be ignored or put in whatever passes for a crazy house on this planet."
He took in a deep breath and thought of a plan that would not involve them getting stuck on the planet. "We might be able to send out a message to everyone on the planet, but I would suggest doing that after we have already abandoned ship."
