Well, not entirely abandoned anymore. There was something there that Robo!Nate never would have felt, but caused the hairs on the back of fleshy lad's neck to stand. Nate already didn't like this place. And he liked it even less when he noticed that a certain someone else was there.

In other words, he's not going anywhere.

"But if you're going to be here, let's hope you can make yourself useful. For once."

They're on a concourse, like a road, and there are bumper cars here larger than they are--ones with razor sharp prongs stuck on the front of all of them.

"This way!" They needed to get out of here, and Nate was going left. Though it might be a better idea to go right...

The slide dumped them out over nothing, and the two freefalled (while probably still fighting). They only dropped about thirty feet, though, when their fall was broken by something soft that bounced them in the air.

The two of them were dumped into a rather heavily padded room. Which might be oddly appropriate for them. There didn't appear to be anything coming after them this round. It was just wall to wall of very bouncy padding.

Sadly, there wasn't anything for Nate to beat Danny senseless with.

Nate reeled from that, but on the next bounce he launched a kick at Danny's rib.

"I should've known you'd never hack it as a hero."

The voice is back... and he sounds just a touch irritated.

The part of the floor the two boys were standing on raised itself up to the hole in the ceiling above it. Once it was the top, the boys could see several giant rodents! Each holding a huge mallet, one of which was about to be slammed down on them!

The urge to gawk was powerful, but it was offset by the need to move in order to not get flattened.

"This guy is fucking insane!"

For once, they weren't arguing, which made the whole "cooperating" thing a lot easier. Which is good, because moving from platform to platform while dodging giant mallets wasn't easy.
