With A Friend Like You...

Well, that had been taken care of easily enough.

Since he decided on an extended stay in this time period, Nate had to keep an eye on the timestream. His presence alone was making waves, and he had to carefully agitate them further. Tonight, that happened to mean that he could play the hero and save the day. Other nights, though...

He had stopped an angry madman from detonating a bomb in the crowded South Street of Philadelphia. Had the device gone off, it would have spurred the government to take emergency measures to create the "Liberteens", another young superhero group. With juvenile superhuman crime on the rise in Philadelphia and South Jersey, the Liberteens were bound to be created sooner or later, but literally removing the explosive catalyst would likely delay their formation by months, if not years.

So he had essentially eliminated the competition before they could even get started, and got a lot of positive press in the process. Always a good thing.

He decided to take the scenic route back to Manhattan, and flew up the Jersey coast. He had been speeding along quite fine until some rather unusual readings popped up on his sensors. He internally debated about it for a little while as to whether or not he should look in to it, but in the end, curiosity won out and he decided to check it out.

He followed the signal, which landed him at an abandoned carnival not too far off the shore. Now he just had to figure out what could be causing it.
